Guide to Diamond Painting

What does a Diamond Painting Kit Include?

Your kit will come with everything you need to make the painting. You will receive all the drills you need for your kit, a tray, red wax & a pen.

What are the drills/tiles?

A drill/tile is the small plastic or resin diamond which you place on the sticky canvas. They come in either round or square. There are also crystal & special shaped ones as well. I prefer the square drills as it covers the canvas more & gives more details.

What is the difference between full drill & partial drill?

With a partial drill kit only some of the canvas is covered with the drills. Some of the canvas will have a picture printed on it which the drills do not cover. There will only be a few sections which will actually be covered by drills. A full drill kit will have the drills covering the whole of the canvas picture. I prefer these to the partial ones but it is all preference.

How do I start my Diamond Painting?

After you have all drills & sorted them ready to start you will begin by choosing your first drills & tipping them into the tray provided. Get your pen and press the tip into the small red wax square so there is wax in the bottom. This will make the pen sticky and you will be able to pick up the drills easily & place on the corresponding symbol allocated to that colour. I normally do a small section at a time. Normally about 10cm x 10cm and fill in that whole area then get to the next section. Some people like to do the all the drills of the one colour on the whole canvas. That would be ok if you did a small kit but when doing a larger canvas I suggest doing section at a time.

What size kit should I get?

If you have never done these before I would suggest to start with a smaller partial kit to get used to it. You will very quickly be addicted and want to try something bigger. When it comes to the size of the canvas bigger is always better as you will get more details. Some smaller kits don't get the pictures details very well so if you want detail go bigger. A good size is 40x50 but I also stock some 30x40. I sometimes will stock bigger kits and can always order bigger if you like.
